Time 8.25 - London Gypsy Orchestra

In the process of archiving the London Gypsy Orchestra's past work, we really feel like featuring this piece. Inspired by Kroke’s Sat — meaning "time" — Gundula Gruen and Evrah Albventure-True came together to craft something truly special. Evrah is renowned for her mesmerizing word art. By gathering words around a subject from every corner of the British language and dipping deep into ancient roots and forgotten regional dialects, she weaves pieces that carry extraordinary sounds, rhythms, and acoustic patterns purely through the power of language.

In response, Gundula composed an original musical piece around Evrah's voice, playing with the fluid boundaries of time itself through overlapping rhythms, shifting meters, and a delicate dance of acceleration and deceleration. The new sections are embedded within Kroke's original 'Sat', which Gundula artfully arranged as the intro and outro for the London Gypsy orchestra.

The result of this magical collaboration is 'Time 8:25.' A celebration of sound, language, and the moments that shape us, and today we bring it back to life so you can enjoy it too! 🕰️🌿🎻
