About The Book

A journey through sound, history, and cultural heritage - BALKAN MUSIC FROM THE DANUBE is an extraordinary collection of 29 instrumental pieces from the Black Sea to the source of the Danube.
This book delves into the rich musical traditions of the Eastern European and Balkan Danube regions, shaped by Ottoman influences. However, to capture the essence of a complete journey, it extends all the way to the river’s source in Donaueschingen, Germany.
More than just a collection, this book is an educational and inspirational resource for musicians—both amateur and professional—who wish to explore the alternative musical heritage of the Danube.
While you will find several waltzes, there is no Blue Danube here. Instead, you will discover unique and captivating pieces. Some will be familiar to enthusiasts of Balkan music, but many are rare gems that I uncovered during my travels, and I am truly proud to share them.
The book is available as a physical edition and as digital download. Each purchase includes MP3 audio tracks, bringing the music to life and enriching your experience.
