This period follows a cherished ritual we’ve tried to complete annually for more than 20 years: a multi-day mountain hiking tour, trekking from hut to summit, peak to peak, for around five glorious days 🧗‍♀️🌲. This tradition is a wonderful leftover from when I still lived in Germany, back when we tackled mountain trails several times a year. Miraculously, we still manage to make it happen more than half the time! Over the years, we have covered vast stretches of the German and Austrian Alps, even venturing down for an unforgettable tour in the Brenta Dolomites in the Italian Alps a few years back 🦅🌄.

Sometimes we tackle technical equipment routes, but only as long as the climbing paths are secured with steel cables and iron rungs! 💫 This year, our tour went a little short—just two days with a single overnight stay at the iconic Tegernseer Hütte  🏕️, scaling up toward the Roßstein summit. It is one of those wonderfully romantic mountain huts nestled high up in the peaks, complete with amazing food, very little internet signal, board games around a wooden table, and local schnapps to warm the evening air 🛖🥃🎲.

Unfortunately, I have to keep you out of the juiciest bits, as they fall strictly under the category of private ladies' chat and deep catch-ups! 😉🤫🌞

But let me share a little video I compiled of the most stunning alpine views and atmospheres, sound-tracked by music we actually encountered along the way 🎶:
